| Bio: | ![]() Character Information Name of character you are applying for: Pansy Parkinson, with an alias for Muggle world, “Niky Parks” Age of character you are applying for(physical age, if one of the resurrected):21 Birthday:January 13, 1980 PB: Morgane Dubled Wand:9” Birch, Unicorn Hair core House at Hogwarts:Slytherin Family Parents: James P. Parkinson and Anna J. Parkinson Siblings: none Family interactions (how does your character get along with his/her family members?): Born to devoted parents, James P. Parkinson and Anna J. Parkinson, Pansy is the only child to this Pure-blood family. She was born and raised in Manchester, probably in one of the more affluent suburbs of this great cosmopolitan city. Being an only child, she was doted upon, and was denied nothing as a child. Her activities prior to school included all the skills necessary to a Pure-blood young lady; she plays the piano, she knows how to paint and draw, she can arrange flowers. She just rarely chooses to demonstrate theses skills. When she got her letter to Hogwarts, she had already collected a small group of girls in her neighborhood, whom she ran with an iron fist. She left, convinced that she would be in Ravenclaw House, as her mother and father. To her surprise and delight, she was chosen for Slytherin, and felt assured that the choice meant great things for her future. Her parents were surprised at her house, but being intelligent people, saw the benefits of it, and were as always, highly supportive. Although she was not the prettiest girl in her house, or the “brainiest” in obtaining the highest scores in class, Pansy was the cleverest in establishing and maintaining her hold on her household, and her gang of girls. She was excellent at manipulation, and was not afraid to resort to physical threats to get her way; her aggressive nature intimidates the other students. She has wit and skill at strategizing and implementing her plans; because of her higher marks, although not the highest, she was chosen prefect for her 5th year. During her schooling, her parents were not open supporters to Voldemort’s Death Eaters, but ran in the circles with them. Many Death Eater meetings and supplies were funded in part by the Parkinson's money and efforts. Because of their association, the Parkinsons lost a good deal of their money due to hefty fines. They didn’t know how to help or support their daughter upon her return, and after hearing about the incident at the end of school, her parents were further at a loss as to how to ease her situation. She went into the Muggle world (*see history) and when she left for the Muggle world, she had little contact with her family, for her own protection and for theirs as well. When she re-enters the wizarding world, she will re-establish her relationship with her parents; the communication she has had from them, brief by her own choice, has been fraught with apologetic statements and pleas for her to return. She is looking forward to re-connecting with her family. Occupation:Muggle Fashion Model, Iconic Celebrity, Fashion Entrepreneur Residence:Rents a room in manager’s flat in London which until recently, she rarely occupied due to travel; she is ready to get her own place as her schedule settles. Financial status: Wealthy Political views:Pansy has two opinions about the political state, one she shares with the public, and one she secretly harbors. To the public eye, she is a cautious Integrationist, who thinks the two worlds can be merged, while internally she is an extreme Separatist, borderline on an isolationist. She thinks the two worlds should never be combined. Pansy would actually rather not have to deal with Muggles at all, except for using them for financial gain. Pure-bloods should not be forced to interact with Muggles, and not be forced to share their world with them. Blood Status:Pure-blood Sexuality (Please note, if you are playing a Pureblood character who is also gay/bisexual, there are guidelines):Heterosexual Physical description Height:5’8” Weight:120 pounds Distinguishing marks:Pansy used to have an upturned nose that has been ‘corrected’ and now is perfect and straight. She has dark hair, steady eyes, a light complexion, capable hands, and prominent cheekbones She has a wide mouth, with perfect teeth and perfect ears. Described as a hard faced girl from her school days, Pansy has matured and learned the art of illusion; she would not be called a hard faced girl now but a beautiful woman. Where a scow would be frequently found, now an expression of disinterest and neutrality smooths her calm face. When she is pleased, her face transforms to one that is pleasant and sweet; it is a face she used to no share with many others, only with her friends and fellow Slytherins. Now, she can create almost any expression for the camera and the public eye. There are moments, when her guard is down, that echos of that hard-faced girl from her youth show through. She wears her hair long and flowing. She wears dark colors, preferring the dark green or black of her house colors, but because of her modeling experience, she has discovered that she can use her attire to emphasis her . Give us a description of your character's appearance: Pansy has gained a refined edge to her previously harsh personality. She has been coached well by Tony, her Muggle talent manger, who discovered her. He saw through her rough exterior a superb diamond, and with his years of managing temperamental and moody young girls, he found that he could easily manipulate Pansy into feeling more confident in her skills and her potential. Pansy’s appearance has changed under Tony’s tutelage. She listened to him, and slowed her walk from a hall stalking stride to a sexy saunter. She has let her hair grow long, and has played with coloring it. Tony has helped her transform into a feminine, fragile- looking vixen, and he sent her on dozens of international shoots. As a result, she tends to be dressed in the latest fashion trends, and she has a cultural air to her countenance. Give us a description of your character's personality (for example, are they a confident person? Do they speak their mind? What are their flaws and good points? We want to know that you have a good understanding of your character, so feel free to use examples and make it as in depth as possible): Personality: Pansy is strong willed, and she has varied strengths and weakness in her character. She is the stereotypical example of a only child. Her experience over the last two years have let her fine tune some of her better qualities, while hiding her worse qualities more efficiently. Strengths and Weaknesses: Pansy does have some good strengths of character. She is prudent in most of her decisions for others (as long as they do not affect her plans) and is very responsible. She knows how to be formal and polite and can feign patience when she needs to. She is methodical in her planning, and usually perseveres due to her continued efforts and dedication. As an adult, she has learned how to better bend people to her will, through other means then threatening and belligerence. She knows how to use the right words to manipulate; she has learned better how to flatter with a straight face and falsely sincere tone. Her weaknesses include be too rigid and suspicious. She can be demanding, insensitive, and aloof. She can also be possessive, materialistic, stuck up, and vindictive. She is definitely harshly critical and calculating. Habits\Quirks: She enjoys a cigarette and drinking; she has tried drugs but finds she does not like that feeling of being out of control of her senses. She does NOT chew her nails. She does tap her fingers frequently. Likes\Dislikes: Pansy is a romantic. She likes the idea of being in a relationship with someone. She likes to make long term plans. She likes to be spoiled; to be given gifts of any kind. She likes Quidditch. Dislikes: She used to hate to be bossed around or be dominated; now she is silently resentful of it but deals with it in her job. She does not like others playing her the fool. She does not care to be challenged. And she hates herself when she is indecisive. She dislikes Hermione Granger intensely, and dislikes most Muggles in general. She would rather not have anything to do with them, if she could help it, but the personal gain from the interactions has made it smugly bearable. She also hates waiting in lines, being put off, being looked over or ignored. She dislikes many things due to her pickiness. History Please give us a brief history of what happened to your character past canon to bring them to this point. if playing an OC, please give a much longer history to show how your character fits into this world. Pansy’s last years in school were good. Always hyper-critical of other girls, Muggles, Half-bloods and Purebloods alike, and with her girl gang in tow, Pansy felt confident in running the school. Being a prefect, and then a head girl, she was expert at catching other students in compromising situations, manipulating others, and basically being cruel and mean to lesser students for sport. She excelled in her Transfiguration and Charms class, and found she had a hidden talent for casting effective non-verbal spells and other DADA instructed hexes. The last year in school, she was able to perform two of the three Unforgivable curses rather well, curses that the Carrows taught all of the students in their DADA classes. It was in those last hours of school that her fortune turned. She had been thinking about her fellow students. She had been concerned about the well being of the school building and staff when she had blurted out in front of all to surrender Harry Potter to Voldemort. Her horror was tripled as she witnessed a massive turning of multiple wands on her person. With her tail between her legs, she slipped out of the school with the other Slytherins, to let the battle be fought by those fools who remained and thought they could defeat the Death Eaters. She was no cheerleader of the Death Eaters, except perhaps her favorite one, Draco Malfoy, but a cheerful follower of those in control, especially at Hogwarts. She was horrified to discover she had been rooting for the losing team. The war ended, with Voldemort defeated and all Death Eaters supporters striped and forced to the Kiss, Pansy was relieved that her family had not been open supporters of Voldemort's efforts; her parents had never been enthusiastic enough to actually join the ranks, but still were subjected to fines for their interactions with the Death Eaters. Pansy, along with a number of other seventh year students, were allowed to complete their NEWTs by special arrangement at the Ministry of Magic. Pansy achieved an O in Transfiguration, an O in Charms, and an E in Defensive Spells, and adequate scores in her other tests. Armed with these scores, and a firm desire to be involved in politics and administration, Pansy applied to work in an assistant capacity with a number of different departments in the Ministry of Magic. Every interview was a flop. She was politely denied an interview, or silently critiqued and curtly dismissed as unqualified for the positions, even when she applied to be a file clerk. Every application was denied. It was her last interview; the interviewer had not bothered to hide his snide comments, “Oh, You are Pansy Parkinson. Interesting. I heard all about you from my son at school, Hufflepuff you know. Miss Parkinson, I wouldn’t bother putting in any more applications. You honestly think you will be able to obtain any position in any Department? Young woman, I am sorry to inform you that your name has been listed on the "un-hire-able" list, circulating the Ministry. I think you may have a difficult time finding a job anywhere. You are considered a traitor, Miss Parkinson. You are the girl who would give Harry Potter up to Voldemort.” She had left the building, completely devistated after months of countless interviews and declines. Blind with her angry tears, she had marched down the sidewalk, trying to release some of her distress. She had crashed into an older man, his briefcase flying out of his hands, papers scattering. He was Tony Fox, and he somehow convinced her to come with him to lunch. She felt she owed him; her self esteem was bordering negative digits at this point. Tony was enamored by her. Tony thought she was lovely. Tony thought she had an interesting way of striding down the street. Tony was an agent. Tony was a Muggle. After many hours of fawning and coercing, Tony managed to convince Pansy to take some pictures; he was going to make a career for her in modeling. Pansy reluctantly saw this as her only opportunity; she saw no options left available in the Wizarding world, short of working as a shop clerk and she would not demean herself to such a lowly position. Secretly, she feared she would be rejected from those jobs as well; there was no place she could escape her reputation except to venture into the Muggle realm. She internally cringed at the idea of her interacting with Muggles on a daily basis; she had a variety of valid reasons for agreeing. She would make money, and be able to support herself. She would have access to the best in the business (make-up, hair, photographers and designers) and the current fashions. And she would have a chance, as Tony had cleverly put it, to ‘have every person who met her eating out of her hand.’ He was convinced that she would be good at modeling. He was convinced that she would be picked up, and become world famous. He was convinced of the after market opportunities. After Pansy’s initial hesitation to trust him, she decided she had nothing to lose by going along. Many pictures later, with some cosmetic surgery and some gentle instruction, Pansy Parkinson was released onto the Muggle world as the new “It” girl, Niky Parks. That had been almost three years ago. Pansy aka ‘Niky’ had an unusual walk that caught the eye. She had a striking face that turned peoples' heads. Her years of stalking about Hogwarts had transformed into a strong purposeful stride. Her look of glowering at others as she moved through the halls had been softened and transformed (due in part to her nose job, a soft tan, longer hair and some highlights) and now she looked with dispassionate interest at others. Her months of job rejection had made her take up smoking and she had dropped thirty pounds, and with all of her youthful baby fat gone, she was a lean, trim prime example of a model. She was a sensation. And the money began to roll in; her popularity blossomed. She was picked up as the representative model for a famous line of cosmetics. There was a ‘Niky’ line of fragrances out at the Muggle Department stores, and a line of dresses inspired by her in selected Muggle boutiques. She was invited to attend all of the best premiers or parties. Famous celebrities wanted to meet her, and be seen with her. She had been approach to start her own design line; she enjoyed her success but all the while, she yearned to cross over, and return to the Wizarding world. She had let Tony lead her away from the Wizarding world. She had barely been able to show her face on Diagon Alley; every one, it seemed, knew about her suggestion that they save the school by handing over the Golden Boy, who come to find out later, did exactly that hours later- he willingly walked into the lion’s den. Tony had been a god send to her; the job had turned into something more. They were making money. She was well on her way to becoming a millionaire. She felt good about herself; her critical skills were well used and her opinion was a prized commodity. But secretly she knew it was from the feelings of Pure-blood power that emerged when she allowed herself to be surrounded by the inferior beings she had detested in school. She was merciful to them; they couldn’t help being the helpless creatures they were. Her experience with them only confirmed her first opinion; Pure-bloods were the best beings and Muggles were to be used, without question, and should always come second. For two years, she had focused on improving herself, marketing herself as a better package with Tony, and they had reaped the benefits. She had stayed clear of the Wizarding world, and only allowed herself the indulgence to subscribe to the Daily Prophet and a Witchly Wizarding magazine. The proposed visit by Tony Blair to Diagon Alley had stunned her. She had been out of town, on a shoot, and had missed the article about the merging of magical and Muggle worlds. She had thought long, and decided it would be a benefit to her business but the worst idea she had EVER heard of. But she decided that she would capitalize on the merge with a new venture of her own. She would bring her line of clothing to one of the stores on Diagon Alley. She was sure as ‘Niky Parks,’ fabulous famous model and new fashion designer, she would not have a problem convincing the owner to carry her line. And by mentioning that she was also a witch, she thought she’d have the business venture in the bag. On the one hand, it was a golden opportunity to show herself as a supporter of the new politics of the Ministry; on the other hand, she secretly seethed and wondered how she could stop it. She did not want the Muggle world invading her privacy. She did not want the Muggle world to know she was Pansy Parkinson. Plotting What short and long term goals do you have for your character?: Pansy sees an opportunity to re-enter the wizard world. She enjoys her success in the Muggle world, and wants to use that success to catapult her into success in the Wizarding world, in the same capacity. She wants to get her line of clothes into a local robes shop in Diagon Alley. She plans to transition her success from the last two years into success in her own world. Once this is successfully accomplished, she may pull out of the Muggle world; it will be dependant on the political tone. If Muggles are accepted into her old world, she will continue to bridge both. She will reconnect with her family, who she has found she is missing more these days. She will also reconnect with old Slytherin friends, tentatively. She will try to find other like-minded wizards and witches who are isolationists, slowly and cautiously. How does your character feel about the post-war world? (The Wizarding Community becoming more open to Muggles, captured Death Eaters receiving the kiss, or being stripped of their wealth and property for lesser offences):Pansy is appalled at the the idea of her community being open to Muggles, but she sees an opportunity to bridge the two worlds and make some money. Her parents, although not Death Eaters, associated with other Pure-bloods and because they were not Muggle supporters, they were labeled Voldemort supporters and were forced to pay a hefty fine for their interactions with him. This change in financial status had spurred Pansy to make a decision to trust Tony, her manager, and venture into the Muggle world. She was horrified when she read of Lucius’s Malfoy’s death, and alone in a hotel room, somewhere in Europe, she mourned for Draco, for Narcissa, and for her own lost opportunities of her life. She felt more isolated, and became more determined to make her new venture work as a success for herself. Pansy sat on the couch, flipping through the Witch Weekly Magazine, as she watched her manager fret and debate with himself, waving his hands about himself as he muttered and then stoped to stare at her, his hands on his hip as he cocked one hip to one side. Tony was a closet homosexual; these little tirades were times when he showed his true nature. "Pansy, I think it is too soon to start the clothing line. We have you at the height of your popularity. Darling, I'm afraid if I let you start playing designer, you are going to fade into the wood work." "Don't call me that. My name is Niky." Her tone was cold, but not a trace of irritation showed on her face as she attempted to ignore his rantings. He was worried; he didn't want her to stop the modeling gigs. They were their bread and butter, but he needed to let her explore the design side of things. She would still accept jobs; she only wanted to see her ideas made tangible. She thought she was onto something, a look that would transition easily from her to her home territory. She continued to listen to him, as she browsed her magazine, trying to catch up on the latest gossip. She gave a small smirk at the article in the Witchly Weekly: an Italian soccer player had suffered a "mysterious' magical affliction. The Italian's version of the Ministry of Magic was still investigating how the strapping man had "lost' his most prized sexual parts. Pansy smirked again as she read how they were working with experimental treatments to help him regrow back the vital organs. There was no mention of her name or Niky's name in the article; at least the fool had been smart enough not to realize she had done it. It would be the last time Antonio cheated on her, she thought with satisfaction. Stupid Muggle! She realized she was playing with fire when she dalied with them. They were fun to pass the time, but she had no intention of falling in love with a one of them; she would only marry a Pure-blood. Of that, she was convinced. She re-read the article, looking for any hint that they had the suspected her, but apparently this type of retaliation was far too common in Italy. Tony was still moving around the room, becoming more flamboyant with every step and word. She closed her magazine, and said, "Okay, okay. Stop, Tony! Look, sit down and talk with me. I am not leaving you, I am not even thinking of starting on my own. I don't have the best sense of how to organize all of the business aspects of this. You do. Let me just design a few things. Three to six outfits for presentation, and if there is no major interest, I'll stop thinking about it. I've already started some things in my room. I'll get them ready, and show you, and if you don't love them," she paused and slowly batted her eyes at him, "I will of course, change my plans. Deal?" Her tone was smooth and kind. Her face was calm and open. He paused to look at her, and then began to grin back at her, "Don't try that shit with me, Missy! I taught it to you. I can smell the schmooze a mile away. But okay, I'll look at them. And then we'll go from there. But the international shots, gads Pansy..I mean Niky! They want you in Fuji for that layout, and then in Japan for the cover. Are you sure about changing? Can't you just put the designing on the back burner, for now?" He had moved over and flopped next to her, his arm moving around her shoulder as he batted his eyes at her, mimicing her earlier attempt. As much as she loved Tony, she still was not crazy about being touched by Muggles. Alright, the Italian Muggle had the most perfect body she had seen in ages, so he was excused. But other than Tony, their touch on her made her skin crawl. Tony only caused her a mild twitch. "We'll see, Tony, we'll see."
